You Decide your reality
As a young teenager, I start to think my future will be like. Somethings that I think about are how I'm going to start a career, how I'm going to start living on my own without the help of my parents and how I have to be more responsible for the decisions I make. Well even today I have to be careful with what choices I have to make that will benefit me in a way. It's also not that easy because there can be people or things that prevent you from making your choices and or choosing what you have to do. In the novel Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger, he writes a teenager named Holden Caulfield, and he struggling with issues like identity and loss. He isn't doing good at school either so I'm sure most of us can relate to what he's going through and what he feels. Holden doesn't exactly have a plan set to what he dreams of becoming later on in his life. So what is he deciding on to do in his reality?
"I don’t give a damn, except that I get bored sometimes when people tell me to act my age. Sometimes I act a lot older than I am - I really do - but people never notice it. People never notice anything." - Holden Caulfield
For this Ted Talk, Isaac Lidsky talks about his own life and all of the accomplishments he's had even when he lost his eyesight. His main reason for sharing this is because he wants other to feel inspired to strive for their dreams and do what they want to do not matter the circumstances. Though it could be difficult and there's constantly things around you that stop from doing so. Those things can probably change your mind on what you wanted to do and give you second thoughts as well. If you're truly passionate for reaching your goals and becoming who you want to be, go for it and don't lose hope.
